Quantitative Methods - Unit 1 > Gradient and Intercept

Worked Examples 1

Write down the gradient
and intercept of the
following lines.

  1. y = 2x + 3

  2. y = 6x

  3. y = -4x + 1

  4. y = ½ x + 4

Answers

  1. gradient = 2, intercept = 3

  2. gradient = 6, intercept = 0

  3. gradient = -4, intercept = 1

  4. gradient = ½, intercept = 4

These can be done without drawing the graphs.
