Adding and Subtracting Complex Numbers
As in basic algebra (see Unit 1) combine 'like' terms together. To add or subtract the imaginary part and the real part are dealt with separately.
Example 1
(3 + 6i) + (2 + 3i) = 3+2 + 6i+3i = 5 + 9i
Note that positives and negatives work in the usual way.
