Dividing With Decimals

The important things to remember are:

• The number you divide by must be a whole number.  To do this you may need to multiply it by 10, 100.
• Whatever you do to the number, you must do it to the other number.

Worked example

Divide 45.5 by 0.5

This is the same as 455 ÷ 5 = 91
