Multiplying Decimal Numbers

Use the same method as for long multiplication, ignoring the decimal point in the working out.

We put the decimal point in at the end of the calculation.

To decide where to put the decimal point count the number of decimal places in the two numbers involved in the calculation. The answer has the same number of decimal places.

So the answer is 21.5

Work out 346.7 x 0.2
